Kind Kones, a plant-based ice cream brand headquartered in Singapore that currently operates in Singapore and Malaysia, has successfully completed its first external capital raise.
The investment round was led by DSG Consumer Partners, a Singapore based consumer brand focused VC fund, and was also joined by Sabre Ventures along with other investors. Bayfront Capital Advisors, a Singapore headquartered corporate advisory firm advised Kind Kones on the transaction.
On their choice of investment into Kind Kones, Deepak Shahdadpuri, MD of DSG Consumer Partners said, “Early-stage businesses are intrinsically risky and nothing ever works according to plan. What you want is a team that you believe can adapt”.
”Kind Kones is guided by a philosophy of being kind to health, planet and others. We support the idea of conscious consumption & mindful eating. This funding is a great stepping stone for us to work towards building global brand presence and develop new distribution channels. We are excited to have DSG together with us on this journey”, said Ishpal Bajaj, CEO and Co-founder of Kind Kones.
“Building a company and creating a product that people want is really hard. First external fund raise is an important validation of that journey. We are pleased to have assisted the founders to reach this milestone”, said Saroj Mishra, MD and Co-founder of Bayfront Capital Advisors.
Kind Kones was founded in 2017 by Ishpal Bajaj and Serina Singhsachathet in Malaysia. It currently operates 6 outlets and 2 ecommerce channels. With a strong online presence, Kind Kones aims to become a globally recognized brand in the rapidly growing plant-based food segment.
